Make Do: part two Karaoke Sessions (2022 - present)*

The following is a collection of media from the Barrios family archives and records, spanning from 1980 to 2020. This media has been remixed, layered, and generated while incorporating previously undiscovered footage found within the confines of 1571 Bubbling Well Drive. This exploration showcases significant milestones and events juxtaposed with my late mother's beloved pastime: karaoke. It delves into our family's lineage and the yearning for a sense of belonging, as well as the cultural fusion of old traditions and modern technology from 1989 to 2020. This is a glimpse into the lives of one of many Filipino immigrant families striving to “make do” in a foreign country.
